I have been a Lead teacher in the DCPS Professional Learning Community. Primary functions include adhering to education standards and best practices for Career and Technology Education Professional Learning Groups, arranging meetings and setting agendas for professional growth, communicating with district and regional personnel that would help meet the needs of district teachers while continuing a new program in the computer science field.
I have managed teams of teachers in developing collaborative curricula for Science, Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts core classes. Piloted programs using technology, differentiated techniques, and best practice ideas based on various professional development opportunities.
I have been a project evaluator for AP Collegeboard in the field of AP Computer Science Principles whose directive is to evaluate how well a student followed the guidelines when completing the require projects.
I have read student projects to ensure the projects were compliant with the ISEF rules and regulations and have provided feedback to students who needed to update/improve methodology and/or procedures in order to compete at the regional level competitions. To increase community participation, I have lead mini-workshops for families and newly-hired teachers.
